Fun in TX

We had a nice, quick trip to Texas for John's grandpa's funeral. It was a nice service and it was good to see his family. We had a blast hanging out at Aunt Karen and Uncle Truman's house. They are convinced we are having a boy! We'll see!!! John felt the baby move for the first time on Thursday (Dec. 22) and on Friday morning (Dec. 23) the baby actually woke me up from sleeping!! I had managed to turn onto my stomach, since I've always been a stomach sleeper. Well, Baby didn't have enough room and popped me to move over! It was crazy. It was fun to show off my little "bump" to the Texas Burch Family. :)

cute baby picture!

Isn't our baby just the cutest little thing you've ever seen??!! Sucking his/her thumb takes practice!! During the ultrasound the baby kept hitting his/her head over and over before it finally found it's mouth!!

When we went for our ultrasound, I was full to the brim with water. Then the nurse told me that I didn't drink enough!! Because of that, she had to push more on my stomach than normal. It made me a little sore, but it was worth it because we got to see our little baby!! What a crazy thing, that little person inside of me. It is more real now that I have seen the baby moving around. It sure was cute!! Every time the technician tried to get a measurement of some bones or parts, baby kept moving and wiggling all over the place. She said that our baby is above average on the "activity scale" which doesn't suprise me!! Look at its mom!! haha Anyways, it was very cool to see and she said that everything looked good, so that's good. I can't wait to hold this little peanut in May! We are really getting excited now!!! :)

getting excited

We're going for our ultrasound on Wednesday the 14th. I am so excited to see this little peanut up close. We are not going to find out the sex of the baby, though. We just want to wait. This is the one of the greatest surprises God could ever give us and I just want to wait until he/she is born!!

My belly is starting to really pop out. Courtney even mentioned it at church, so I know it's noticable to others! It's crazy. I can't believe I'm about 1/2 way done with this pregnancy. It's really amazing that I have this little person growing inside of me. What a miracle. I am so blessed!!!!

Sunday adventures

We picked up the crib yesterday (finally) from JC Pennys in Ann Arbor. Ryan and Emily came to the rescue with their truck!! I am excited to put it together and start working on the nursery. Brad Nothrup (from Challenger) said he would paint some scenes on the walls. I'm so excited! I am going to meet with him soon to see what he's thinking and then hopefully he can come over during Christmas Break and paint!! So fun. :)

Emily is getting a belly too! She is a week further along than I am. We talked about names and fun baby stuff while they were here. It is going to be fun being pregnant together. :)

healthy so far!

We went to the DR yesterday, and everything looks great! The heartbeat was about 150 beats per minute. She said that if it was a little higher, she would think it was a girl. If it was a little lower, she'd think it was a boy. SO, all she'd tell us is that we have a healthy baby!! That's ok, because we don't really want to know until it's birthday anyways! :) John got to hear the heartbeat for the first time and his eyes lit up. It was so sweet. I am starting to pop out a little more. We took some pics yesterday of my belly! I'll put those online this weekend. Today, on Thanksgiving Day, I have so much to be thankful for. I am so lucky. I can't wait to meet this little blessing. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!

crib

We ordered the crib last night. It is cherry and so perfect! Here's a picture:

It will be in on Tuesday. Now I need to figure out the bedding. We're not getting the one in the picture. We're going to get something having to do with the Guess How Much I Love You? book. I found some I like online, it's just hard to make a decision!! I think I may have talked a friend of mine into painting a few "little nutbrown hares" on the walls in the nursery. That would be great because I'm sure that if I attempted them, it would look strange!! I'm so excited!!

Feeling like a mamma :)

The last few weeks have been much better. I haven't been sick much, but very hungry!! I'm sure our little peanut is growing like crazy. He/She is about the size of a fist now, I think. That's amazing! Can't wait until our next appointment on November 23. I hope we get to hear the heartbeat again. :) My belly is starting to pouch out a little bit. I'm unable to "suck it in" anymore. Oh well - it's all worth it!!

Acrobat!

On Wednesday, I was talking with LeeAnn at church when something moved inside me. I wasn't sure if it was baby or not??? Then last night, at dinner with Melissa and Madeline, it happened again!!! I'm SURE it was our little acrobat!! I hope to feel it again very soon because I'm SO excited!!!! It almost seems more real to me now that I can feel him/her flipping around inside me!

Sharing the good news

The last week has been so fun!! Last Wednesday (Oct 26) I told the youth at church by showing them the candy bar. Some of them didn't see it right away. It was cute!

On Friday (Oct 28) I gave the same candy bars to the staff at Hutchings. The reactions were priceless!! Everyone was very happy and excited for us. :)

Today, I dressed up as a baby for the Halloween Parade. After the parade, at our party, I passed out the cute little candy bars to my kids. They were so excited. They were screaming and hugging me, followed by a million questions. It was great! Can't wait for KVC so John can tell the swimmers! :)

The Heartbeat!!!!!

At our second appointment today we heard the heartbeat! John couldn't come, so my dad joined me. It was so cool. We taped it. I have listened to it about fifty times already! Dr. Uhle says that everything looks good at 12 weeks! I can't wait to feel our little jellybean flipping around inside me. :)

feeling better!

Today is actually the first day that I'm not feeling awfully sick! Maybe that means that has passed?! I hope so!!! My nails are growing like crazy - how fantastic!! I am so excited to see our little baby in May! It seems like so long from now, but really we're 1/4 of the way there, since I'm 10 weeks! How crazy!

1st appointment

We had our first doctor appointment yesterday. John and I were able to see our little jellybean. So cute!! We even got to see the heartbeat flicker. It looked like a tiny strobe light. It was so cool. They confirmed me being due in May - May 10th to be exact. Maybe Grandma Burch will have a new grandbaby for her birthday! We are so excited!!!

sick-o!!

Well, we're at 7 weeks and I'm always freaking sick!!! I guess that is a good sign!!!! I also have a hyper sensitive nose!! Every time I walk into a new room, my nose freaks out! Lol. John is even having my smell his clothes to see if they need to be washed! SICK Anyways, I feel good. My belly is as hard as a rock and I can no longer hold it in. :( Jane gave me a few pairs of pants that I am going to see if they fit, so I won't have to buy things quite yet. It's going to be soon ~ my belly is coming on strong! YAY I can't wait to feel my little miracle kick. :)

stinky house!!!

Ok, so I am surely pregnant because every room in my house REEKS! Just in case all the signs weren't pointing to YES, I took another hpt tonight. I know, I'm obsessed. It was CLEARLY positive, so I'm not going to worry anymore!! I went to Target tonight and looked at their cute maternity clothes. I tried on a few, but I'm not pregnant enough to buy them yet. I was a little bummed because they were cute, but I thought I probably should wait a month or so. I talked to Kristi tonight and wanted to tell her SO badly. My little sesame seed is growing like crazy and making mommy very queezy!! I am so excited!!!!!!!! John and I had a deep talk last night about our little sesame seed. He got all choked up - it was SO sweet. I pray that we are good parents. This is going to be an exciting year. I can't WAIT to tell our families!!!!!! YAY :) So happy and in love with John ~ and our little sesame seed!!!!!!!

secret :)

This is SO hard to keep secret!!!! I'm starting to pee all the time and when I smell certain foods, I get so sick to my stomach. Yesterday, at the lake, the mostaccoli almost put me over the edge!!! I wanted to tell my mom and Niki like a million times this weekend. Nobody razzed me for drinking pitchers of WATER at the Hamburg Pub this weekend. I think my mom has a hunch, but she would never ask. I can't wait until my doctor appointment on September 27. I am SO excited. John has been so cute, too. At the pub, when we were dancing, he kept telling me how good of mommy I was going to be. I love him so much. I can't believe this dream is finally coming true for us!!!! YAY

baby?!?!?!

We're praying like crazy that the two at-home tests we took are true!! Since I was a day late on Tuesday, that night I took a preg test before John came home that had a faint positive line on it. When he came home I asked him if I was seeing things. He said he saw it too!! Then on Wednesday morning I took another one - another faint line. I'm going to wait a few days and take another one and see if the line has gotten stronger. I sure hope so!!!!!!!! We'll keep praying like crazy!!!!!!

ONE?!

I took yet another HCG blood test today. My hormone level is down to one! I can't believe that. It's never going to get to zero!! I was secretly hoping that it would be really high - which would mean that I was prego. Not yet. I'll keep praying. I know it will happen in God's time.

hmmm

The gyno called and left a message for me to call back. I wonder what they want now. Not more blood tests, I hope! Its been a couple days since I stopped bleeding. Maybe it's gone for awhile. I wonder if we will get pregnant soon? I hope so. :)

no blood yet....

I keep praying that this may be the end of bleeding. I sure hope so! 50 some odd days is quite enough for me. We are "trying hard" to have a baby and praying like crazy. I hope this is God's plan for us. :)

stopped?

I think I may have stopped bleeding today. I hope so. Keep praying!!

No baby yet

Well, as of today I have been bleeding for 54 days. What a trip this has been. From not even thinking I was pregnant, to a very positive pregnancy test, to a miscarriage, to continual bleeding ~ this is making me crazy. John and I would love to be parents soon. I just pray every night that God helps us create that dream. I'll keep praying...
